Where Did the Day Go?

I had wonderful organizing plans for this day. What happened?

I was going to quickly go to town and pick up a few gifts for upcoming events, then go grocery shopping, then back home to spend some time purging book shelves. Everything went as planned - except the "quick" part.

The gift shopping included about 4 different stores and the grocery shopping included about time and a half due to using coupons. Plus, I had stopped at Starbucks to get a Chocolaty Chocolate Chip Frappaccino and having something to drink while I'm pushing a buggy and using coupons always slows me down.

Then, I got home and had to put away all the groceries (all the boys were out feeding horses and such) and that took awhile. I always clean out the fridge at the same time. I don't like to add new food to it while there are old things still in there. I also use alot of containers (jars, bowls, etc.) for items that stay on the counter, so I take things out of the packages and put them in the containers. This takes time too.

Sooooo........here it is almost 5pm and I'm pooped! But - I must march on!

I want to sell some books at our support group meeting this Friday and that means gathering them up. This always leads to moving other things around, which sometimes leads to rearranging. You just never know! Either way, I'll never accomplish anything if I don't get off this computer.

Gotta go!

  1. I know the feeling. Yesterday, for instance, I accompanied my husband to see his grand daughter play her last game of Upward Basketball (she is 6). We thought we would just go there, he would drop me off at the mall while he ran and did a quick job for a customer...pick me up and off we go home. Well, we left at 10 a.m., the game started at 10:30, it lasted an hour, then the 'after' time of visiting and wotnot, well it was close to lunch time so we stopped at Culver's for a quick bite. He got a manly sandwich and we shared some fries and an ice water.....but then his daughter and her husband stop in and they sit with us and we visit even longer. Finally my husband's cell phone with customers on the other end wouldn't let us stay any longer, so off we went. With an unplanned customer stop before the mall, I was finally dropped off to shop for a bit while he went to do the work for the customer. An hour at the mall and I called my husband and said, "the mall is stupid, come get me, I will be on the bench out in from of Radio Shack". Well, sitting on a bench in front of the mall is like a whole new experience-trust me. Anyway, he was done with the job, picked me up and then we had to stop at the grocery to pick up some juice for communion tonight.(he and our daughter fill the little cups). Finally....we made it home at 3:30 p.m. I couldn't believe it. We spent all of that time when what I really wanted was to go to the game....the mall and home.
So, needless to say we all agreed on leftovers and the fish dinner will be for lunch today.
I really do plan on getting a plan of systematic meals going. I figure, breakfast and a lunch of various sandwiches can be created by the eater, while the weekly dinners are basically the same, with different desserts thrown in.
This comment was really long! I just wanted to say I understand. lol
