"Reflect on your favorite family photo. Tell the story of that day."
Well, this is an easy assignment because basically any photo that I'm NOT in, will be one of my favorites! I'm completely not photogenic, at all!
But there is one photo that came immediately to my mind and it's one of my three "men".
I call this "The Album Cover" because, to me, that's what it looks like.
Sometimes you get these accidental shots that turn out so great and I love this one.
We were on a business trip and made our way into the little town of Bastrop where they have a great downtown area.
It was really hot that day and Ted was sick with a severe cold. As you can tell by the look on his face, he wasn't really feeling the "mom wants to take a cool picture" thing going on.
Collin was "on assignment" for some 4H pictures he needed for an upcoming photo contest (he ended up with several ribbons from this one trip) and David was just being dad.
This picture is kind of a foreshadowing of my kids (only to a mother's eye) in that Ted will have his own album cover one day and Collin is definitely on his way to being a reality TV star (well, Web series, at least).
David is in the background, but he is the support - the pillar - the one who provides (well, thanks to the Lord), and the one whose support means the most to these young men.
I guess you could say that I'm there too, but I'm off to the side, cheering them on to be the best they can be and totally believing in them, as every mother should.
This is my family.
These are my men. My pride and joy.
The reason I serve,
the reason I get up every day,
the reason I love,
cook, clean,
and anything else I do.
I do it for them.
These are my stars and they have their own album cover.
*Thanks FOLK for letting me share my family photo with you!*

Sweet! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Julie:)
DeleteI love your analysis of everyone's position in the family. And it really does look like an album cover!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting May:)
DeleteAlbum cover indeed! This is a great photo Debbie! I have a few accidental shots that are favorites of mine as well. Isn't it funny how that happens? As if it were meant to be and that moment in time was destined to be documented? Thanks for linking up!!
