It takes a lot to put on a production. What you see, when you finally take a seat in the audience, are the results of many hours of hard work and preparation.
Someone practiced. Someone was afraid. Someone made phone calls and appointments. Someone bought snacks. And, someone gave up time with their family.
There are details to be hashed out and plans that have to be changed. There are choices and decisions and lots of going back and forth.
And, I would imagine, there are many nights of wishing the sleep would come and many days of just wanting to quit and go home.
There is much that goes on, in order to bring the best result possible, to the audience you are seeking.
Such is our life in the hands of God.
God is always at work behind the scenes.
He's orchestrating your day, your interruptions, your victories, your trials. And, it's all for one purpose.......so that you can walk with him and trust him and know that he wants what's best for your life.
God is always at work and he arrives at our destination, long before we even know that's where he's taking us.
He puts pieces of your puzzle together, piece by piece, and most of the time, you're not even aware that he's working in this way.
I think it's so cool, the way he does this.
I love getting to a new place in my life, only to realize, while looking back, that each step was carefully planned out and orchestrated in such a way, that I would end up exactly there.
As I prepare for the show that I'm a part of, Listen To Your Mother, I can't help but think about how I got to this place and it gives me the confidence that I need, to carry on, through my fear.
I got to this place, of being a cast member, through the plans of God and the prayers of a friend.
You can read about it here: HAVING FAITH. Jennifer Williams, the director of Listen To Your Mother Southeast Texas, shares how God orchestrated the steps of, not only choosing me as a cast member, but also bringing them someone to sponsor the show.
God knew this was where he wanted me. I had no idea. God knew Jennifer would reach me. I had no idea. God knew this particular cast needed to hear one another's stories. We had no idea that we would be impacted by each one.
God knew it all.
And he knows just where he's taking YOU, as well.
You may not be able to see his work until you reach the exact place where he wants you, but just know that he's working out every detail.
So don't take things for granted. Don't go through your day thinking that everything is random; a calendar full of coincidences.
Your life is not random and neither are your circumstances.
Go through today and every day anticipating what's to come, because God is doing the prep work - the 'behind the scenes" work and it's all leading somewhere.
And, when you arrive, you'll be able to look back and know that someone bigger than you had it all worked out and you are where you were meant to be all along.
Rest in that.
